A weekly email series where I share mouthwatering recipes that are sure to make you the culinary hero in your home.
And with the winds of winter soon upon us…
I thought it might be a good idea to share a dish that’s hearty, warm and absolutely perfect for the season.
PLUS… it’s pretty dang easy to whip up, too!
So get out your apron and roll up your sleeves…
And join me as we make a Slow Roasted Beef Brisket!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Lean beef brisket cut into 100 gram chunks
- 4-6 stocks celery
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp paprika
- ¼ cup onion chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- Cayenne, to taste
- Chili pepper, to taste
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
Here are the instructions:
- Combine spices in a small bowl and rub the mixture into the brisket on all sides. Salt the meat liberally.
- Place brisket in a Crock Pot. Fill ½ way with water. Add celery and set the Crock Pot on high for 30 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium or low and allow to slow cook for 6-8 hours. Baste and turn the brisket periodically. You may add more of the spice mixture if you wish.
And that’s it!
Once all is said and done…
You can enjoy the brisket with horseradish sauce and even save the juices to make a delicious dressing for later!
Pretty sweet, right?
This recipe takes a little longer than most, but it’s also pretty hands-off once you’ve got everything in the pot.
